Have you ever met one of those people who has absolutely no control over the volume they speak at? I'm not sure whether they're totally oblivious to the normal discreet volumes at which everyone else manages to conduct their conversations, whether they simply can't discern that they're talking in an inordinately loud voice or whether they're conceited enough to think that *everyone* within a radius of about 3 miles actually wants to hear their every word? Whatever the reasons for their aurally offensive behaviour there is only one thing worse than seeing or, more accurately, hearing one of these people as you go about your day and that, dear friends, is being the poor soul thrust into the unfortunate circumstance of having a conversation with them.
It is undoubtedly a terrible experience...not only do you have to endure the obvious rigours of listening to a loud (and no doubt obnoxious) persons views recounted at ridiculous volume, you also have to face the *painfully* cringeworthy situation of having every passerby look over to see what the hell all that noise is about...and they see you, stood there with this moron ostensibly having a conversation with him and, merely by this passing association, they'll think you're having this conversation on purpose...worse still, they may think he's a friend! Gah! *sigh* It's in situations like this where an acerbic inner monologue *really* comes in handy ;)
