Just a brief musing today...have you ever noticed the similarity between the words 'capable' and 'culpable'? It's a thought that often wends it's merry way through the empty corridors of my brain...normally sparked off by a comment like "i'll leave it in your capable hands", a seemingly complimentary vote of confidence in your great ability non? Well...sort of :) ...but there's also an unspoken air of "and if it fucks up i'll know *exactly* who to blame" don't you think? Hence my thought on the inherently interchangeable adjective :)

But what a marvellous little phrase eh? You can happily hurl out the seemingly innocuous and praiseworthy "I'll leave it in your capable hands" and seem like a nice chap, but in reality you're also subtly threatening the poor sap this loaded comment is aimed at...good eh :D
